The Committee, past and present players, members, associated clubs and parishes of the Victorian Catholic Lawn Tennis Association sadly mourn the passing of our former player, committee member and Archbishops representative to the VCLTA for 50 years.
Fr Sweeny represented Victoria in the Annual Interstate Priests Tennis Challenge as well as representing many parish tennis clubs around Victoria as he moved from parish to parish.
Father Sweeny your contribution and passion for tennis to the VCLTA both on and off the court will never be forgotten.
Our sincere condolences are extended to all of Fr Sweeneys family, his memory will live on forever at the VCLTA.
Fr. Sweeney passed peacefully on the morning of the 17th of August, 2011, at the age of 83.
