Thursday Night Competition Format
This competition is open to players of all ages
This format is suited to players looking at playing competition with in a 2 hour time frame.
Teams consist of 2 male players.
All players are ranked prior to the start of play each week. Rankings can change each week.
It is recommended that any emergency players are ranked in the proper positions based on standard.
All players play 1 rubber of doubles and 1 set of singles
SINGLES - PLAYER 1 V PLAYER 1 & PLAYER 2 V PLAYER 2
DOUBLES - PLAYER 1 & 2 V PLAYER 1 & 2
Matches are played on a Thursday Night commencing at 7:30pm sharp - only one court is required, some venues have share courts that they may rotate other sets on.
Two teams may be entered for each available court at your club. More than one location may be used if required.
VCLTA.com can assist clubs in finding courts with lights if required
Singles sets are an eight game set, with a super (first to ten, win by two points) tie-breaker at 8 games all.
Doubles rubber is the best of three sets - the first two sets are a six game set with a 12 point tie breaker to be played at 6 all and the third set played as a straight super (first to ten, win by two points) tie-breaker to see who wins the rubber if required.
The pennant committee reserves the right to re-grade any teams entered. Entries will be geographically zoned wherever possible.
All teams must be affiliated with VCLTA (Affilliation Fee $10 per annum)
COST OF COMPETITION
There is no team entry fee for this competition
Each player pays $10 per week when they play to the host venue. This includes light hire, evening snack & new tennis balls to be supplied by the host venue ($3 from each player to be allocated for evening snack).
